A Jesmond based firm has been named the People and Work Business of the Year at the BCC’s Chamber Business Awards.
The awards, now in their 22nd year, are one of the showpieces of the business calendar, highlighting the role of firms in delivering growth, prosperity and innovation across the UK.
The People and Work Award recognises a business that prioritises diversity and inclusion, while recruiting, retraining and retaining a skilled workforce – improving business performance by embedding these values into its culture.
Square One Law, a member of North East Chamber of Commerce, won the award after impressing judges with its ‘courage to break away from the traditional legal sector norms’ and ‘championing inclusivity in an embedded way’.
Square One Law began life as a start-up law firm 14 years ago. It is now a top certified B Corp business with experienced lawyers working across Newcastle, Leeds and Tees Valley. The firm is dedicated to creating a fair, inclusive, and diverse culture that reflects a commitment to ethical and professional behaviour.
Square One Law will pick up its award at a ceremony at the London Stock Exchange on 26 November – where it will also compete for the Winner of Winners Award alongside other category champions.
