Business Council

about the Business Council

The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) cares deeply about the importance of business and the good it can do.  We have a long and successful record of representing British businesses in their local communities, nationally and – via our international network, globally.

After speaking to the nation’s largest corporates, it was clear to us that they were looking for a different kind of representation. In response we developed an additional offer, the Business Council.

The Business Council brings together leading organisations to devise policy solutions to the UK’s economic challenges. It also gives them access to our expert policy team, market-leading insights and exclusive events which provide opportunities to engage with other business leaders, as well as directly with national government and political figures.

The British economy faces many challenges. However, as businesspeople, we have a responsibility to work in partnership with government and other stakeholders to build a future that supports sustainable growth, high quality productivity and innovation. At its heart, that’s what the Business Council was set up to do.

The report set out five priorities for immediate action to put in place the right policies and structures that will turn the fly wheel of the economy, so that business can step up and make the best of these opportunities.
