Responding to a Government announcement of £63 million to support UK development of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), Ben Martin, Policy Manager at the BCC, said:
“SAF plays a vital role in supporting the aviation sector to decarbonise. The government announcement of £63m of funding to support the development of SAF, will boost green fuel production and support jobs, helping to make the UK a leading nation in SAF.
“Industry will now be looking for further details on the Revenue Certainty Mechanism and how this will impact them. BCC has heard clear calls from the industry for the Government to provide long-term certainty and incentivise funding through the RCM, and for impacts and costs on the industry to be minimised where possible.
“The Sustainable Aviation Fuel Bill is key to providing industry confidence in SAF and encouraging investment in its development. We look forward to seeing this Bill continue to progress in Parliament.”
