The British Chambers of Commerce is teaming up with children’s newspaper First News to find the UK’s business leaders of the future.
Our exciting competition, launched today, will find winners in four different categories:
- A greener planet
- Jobs and skills
- Online safety
- Local life
To enter, children just have to tell us about their business idea or innovation in no more than 200 words.
The lucky winners will get to meet and share their ideas with a senior cabinet and shadow cabinet minister, at the BCC’s Global Annual Conference in London next month. They’ll also write a report for First News and get a tour of the House of Commons.
Baroness Martha Lane Fox, President of the BCC said:
“Young people are the future of the economy – and I’m thrilled at this opportunity to showcase their brilliant business ideas.
“Working with First News we’ve come up with four categories which we know matter to both children and business. We all want to have a greener planet, improve jobs and skills, create a safer online world and make local areas the best places to live.
“The winners will have a unique platform at our conference to showcase their ideas with senior politicians and hundreds of business leaders.”
Nicky Cox, Editor in Chief of First News said:
“First News is delighted to be working with the British Chambers of Commerce.
“This competition to inspire Britain’s future business leaders fits perfectly with our Children’s Party manifesto, launched for the election year, which gives children a voice even though they don’t get a vote.
“I can’t wait to see what ideas they come up with.”
Full details of the competition and how to enter are available on the First News website www.firstnews.co.uk or on social media @First_News
