BCC comments on flexible rail fare trials
Commenting on the Government’s announcement of flexible rail fares trials and fares trials funds, Co-Executive Director Hannah Essex said:
“Businesses will welcome flexible fare trials that support changing patterns of work. With 65 per cent of companies offering flexible working hours, firms and the talent that drives them will want to see these rolled out across the country so that everyone can benefit.
“More broadly, just 24 per cent of businesses feel the UK rail network is meeting their needs. It is encouraging to hear the Government commit to delivering a modern rail infrastructure that supports enterprise. This must include HS2 and the promised investment in Northern Powerhouse Rail.”
