Chamber Awards 2025: UK & Global Teams Recognised

Teams from across the talented Chamber network have been recognised at the 2025 Chamber Awards.

  • Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce crowned UK Chamber of the Year
  • British Chamber of Commerce in Korea named International Chamber of the Year.
  • Doncaster Chamber of Commerce received the Outstanding Achievement Award.

Organised by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) the Chamber Awards are one of the showpieces of the business calendar. The awards are an opportunity to highlight the role that Chambers play in assisting firms to deliver growth and prosperity for the UK and local communities. They provide a brilliant opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the Chamber Network, and the vital support Chambers provide to businesses.

Judges praised Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce for their high local impact campaigning for a managed energy transition that safeguards thousands of jobs. They also recognised the Aberdeen team’s extensive collaborative work with other UK Chambers.

Meanwhile, the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea impressed the judges with their involvement in the Empower Programme which works to support women in business. The judges noted the Chamber’s impressive partnership work, particularly with the British Embassy in Seoul.

The team at Doncaster Chamber of Commerce clinched the Outstanding Achievement Award, for their leadership role in the planned reopening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport. The judges praised the collaborative approach to a project which will have a major impact on the regional economy.

Russell Borthwick, Chief Executive of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, said:

“Winning this award is great recognition for the whole team at AGCC.

“We play a leading role in pushing for a just energy transition in our region, and across the UK. That’s something that will safeguard jobs everywhere and secure our economic future.

“The ambition, resilience and innovation of the Northeast of Scotland are at the heart of everything we do.”

Lucinda Walker, Chief Executive of the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea, said:

“The Programme is a unique Chamber initiative that enables Korean women to empower themselves and empower others.

“We’re delighted this Programme, which brings so much joy to the Chamber, has been recognised by the International Chamber of the Year Award.

“Empower has raised the profile of the BCCK but more importantly has had tangible impacts on the careers of the women who’ve been part of it.”

Dan Fell, Chief Executive of Doncaster Chamber of Commerce said:

“I’m exceptionally proud of the Chamber played in securing take-off plans for the airport. Working collaboratively with other stakeholders across South Yorkshire, including our neighbouring Chambers, we’ve achieved so much.

“Winning this award is great recognition for our small and mighty team who work tirelessly for Doncaster.”

Sarah Howard, Chair of the British Chambers of Commerce said:

“Our Chamber colleagues in Aberdeen, Korea and Doncaster may be operating in very different communities, but they are united in the same purpose – making a real difference for businesses in their communities.

“The judges were bowled over by the calibre of this year’s entries. So, a huge congratulations to all the Chambers who entered – and to those shortlisted.”

Des Shaw, Chief Executive at Quest, corporate supporters of the Chambers Awards said:

“At Quest we’re proud to support this year’s Chamber of the Year awards.
