Reacting to news that the government still intends to go ahead with phase three of the roadmap in England on Monday, Hannah Essex, Co-Executive Director of the BCC, said:

“The Government is taking a pragmatic approach and businesses will be relieved that there’s no change to the roadmap for phase three. Many will be spending their weekend getting ready to welcome colleagues and customers back on Monday.

“To keep firms trading and the roadmap on track we would urge everyone to follow government advice and play their part by taking up their offer of vaccination and continuing to follow COVID safe guidelines.”
