Suffolk Chamber of Commerce has been crowned UK Chamber of the Year at the British Chambers of Commerce Chamber Awards 2026.
The Chamber Awards are a highlight of the business calendar, celebrating the people and organisations that strengthen the Chamber Network and help companies grow and prosper.
This year’s awards have been organised with support by Quest. It provides outsourced HR, health and safety, employment law and business compliance support to organisations across the UK.
Suffolk Chamber was recognised for its transformational supply chain programme, which connects businesses with major infrastructure opportunities and supports stronger local supply chains. Beginning with its early work around Sizewell C, the programme has expanded into a wider ecosystem spanning energy, nuclear and other major projects.
The Chamber has helped businesses understand procurement requirements, build capability, form partnerships and compete for contracts. Suffolk businesses have received £1 billion of the £5 billion spent so far by Sizewell C.
The programme employs nine supply chain specialists, generates annual income of more than £600,000 and has contributed to membership growth of 16% since 2019.
On receiving the award, John Dugmore, CEO of the Suffolk Chamber, said:
“We’re immensely proud to be named UK Chamber of the Year, which is fantastic recognition for our entire team and the businesses and partners we work alongside. Our supply chain work is about turning major investment into tangible opportunities for companies. We want to keep building on that approach in Suffolk and sharing what we have learned across the wider Chamber Network.”
Michael Hayman MBE, Chair of the British Chambers of Commerce said:
“Suffolk Chamber has shown how a Chamber can turn major investment into practical opportunities for its members. Its supply chain programme combines deep local knowledge, strong partnerships and commercial sustainability. Just as importantly, it is sharing that expertise across our network so more businesses and communities can benefit.”
Des Shaw, CEO of Quest, said:
“Suffolk Chamber’s programme is an outstanding example of innovation delivering measurable results for business. It has created a scalable model that improves access to contracts, strengthens local capability and supports sustainable Chamber growth. Quest warmly congratulates the whole team.”
