Ahead of the ‘Global Deals, British Jobs’ reception at No10 this afternoon, the leaders of the B5 Business Representative Organisations have issued a joint statement:
“As business leaders, we welcome the Government’s pragmatic approach to UK-EU talks.
“There is substantial mutual economic benefit available to both the UK and the EU through practical progress on issues including SPS arrangements and ETS cooperation. Measures that reduce unnecessary barriers to trade and improve regulatory cooperation can support increased investment, strengthen supply chains, and help reduce costs for businesses and households.
“For many firms, improvements in these areas will make a meaningful difference to costs, certainty and competitiveness.
“Ahead of the next joint UK-EU summit, we welcome a focus on securing ambitious outcomes that deliver tangible benefits for growth, jobs, and consumers across the UK, now and in the future.”
