Trade

delivering growth:

trade

The British Chambers of Commerce was created to promote international trade. Fast-forward 165 years, and we continue to champion the role trade plays in delivering growth.

This has never been more necessary.

Increasing exports is the quickest and most efficient way to grow the UK economy:   our analysis found that if exports had been 2% higher last year, it would have added 0.6% to UK GDP.

At the same time, the world of trade is changing at a phenomenal rate: whether it is the new US approach to tariffs ripping up the rule book or the pace of technological change restructuring demand and altering key supply chains.  Geopolitical events shape our economic security, our growth trajectory, our future.

The BCC represents the views of business to Government – and on trade, we are asking for clear communication from Government on how it plans to navigate the challenges of tariffs, trade wars, geopolitical upheaval and all the uncertainties they bring.

This hub contains policies, advice and resources developed by the BCC to support businesses to expand their trade horizons.
