A Stockton-on-Tees firm has been named Digital Revolution Business of the Year at the BCC’s Chamber Business Awards.
The awards, now in their 22nd year, are one of the showpieces of the business calendar, highlighting the role of firms in delivering growth, prosperity and innovation across the UK.
The Digital Revolution Award, supported by HP Life with Intel, recognises a business that has transformed the market that it operates in, or its product or service, by implementing cutting-edge technologies.
Southern Asset Management, a member of North East Chamber of Commerce, won the award after impressing judges with the practical use of AI across its operation to improve safety and make savings.
Established in 2022, the firm has quickly become a leading provider of high-quality structural testing and asset management services. It primarily tests steel lighting columns, high masts and other metallic assets.
Southern Asset Management will pick up its award at a ceremony at the London Stock Exchange on 26 November – where it will also compete for the Winner of Winners Award alongside other category champions.
Ruth Patterson, Managing Director, HP UK&I said:
“Southern Asset Management is a real example of how AI can transform businesses operations and support workforces. The firm has experienced fast growth, from a standing start just a few years ago – and much of that has been down to investing in digital technology. The firm is clearly ambitious but rightly wants to keep its roots in the North East.”
Sarah Howard MBE, Chair of the British Chambers of Commerce said:
“Southern Asset Management is a great example of how the digital revolution is changing industries. Their AI guided work is keeping structures and communities safe across the UK. With their amazing track record of innovation, Southern Asset are deserved winners of the Digital Revolution Business of the Year.”
