Continuous improvement has been essential to the growth of UWS. They have monitored every aspect of the business and made changes where necessary, monitoring this improvement and displaying it on boards for their employees and visitors to see.

Unique Window Systems (UWS), members of East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire), is a designer, fabricator and installer of uPVC and Aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling. They supply to the trade, new house build and commercial markets with project values anywhere up to £10million. 

Over the next three years, UWS has set several strategic objectives to further propel the company’s growth and solidify its position in the market: 

  • Diversify Product Offerings – exploring new materials, designs, and technologies to stay ahead of industry trends. 
  • Enhance Operational Efficiency – streamlining internal processes, adopting advanced manufacturing technologies, and optimising supply chain management.
  • Invest in Workforce Development – providing ongoing training, fostering a culture of innovation, and encouraging professional growth.
  • Embrace Sustainability – adopting eco-friendly manufacturing practices, sourcing materials responsibly, and reducing waste. 

To achieve these objectives, UWS will need to allocate resources strategically, leverage technological advancements, and maintain a customer-centric approach. Regular evaluation and adaptation of strategies will be crucial to ensure progress towards the stated objectives and to address any emerging challenges or market shifts. 

UWS has experienced exponential growth over the last three years, predominately in the new-house build and commercial property markets. Their geographical location has contributed to this growth. Based in Leicester, they’re able to easily reach large parts of the nation in same-day, which means their customers are receiving products in a timely manner and their drivers have a greater work-life balance. Growth has also been achieved by their reputation in the market. UWS ensure that the customer always comes first and that their demands are met. They pride ourselves on product quality and service; their customers realise this and the reach of ‘word of mouth’ has been important, especially in their industry.

Company Growth

On the back of the success of the brewery site and events, Dal then set his sights on expanding both the range of products on offer and the footprint of the business. In December 2021, Dal agreed a 20-year lease on Christchurch Spire in Coventry city centre. The unique venue serves Dhillon’s beers and ales on tap, as well as offering hot drinks and food, to create a family friendly environment.

Dhillon’s next venture was the Sky Blue Tavern, a brand-new sports bar in the city centre, in partnership with Coventry City Football Club. The Tavern is a hub for Sky Blues fans to meet and enjoy a drink, whether on matchdays or non-matchdays, and helps to generate revenue and support for the club. As one of the only dedicated sports bars in Coventry, football and sports fans can watch the latest action on big screens and in individual booths.

Dhillon’s Brewery have now also secured several catering contracts, including with Historic Coventry Trust, where they provide food and beverage operations at the historic Drapers’ Hall, as well as at other Trust locations.

The company’s vision and long-term growth plan continues to be focused on its close association with Coventry whilst securing further locations and contracts, to build a sustainable, profitable business model whilst continuing Dal’s original passion for brewing beautifully crafted beer.
