CASE STUDIES

HRGO Recruitment ltd

HRGO Recruitment has developed its own technology to end ghosting in recruitment. While people can now submit more job applications, ghosting and a lack of any response has made jobhunting a worse experience. Finding a job is a really important life event – it effects people’s careers, their finances and their family lives.

As a 68-year-old, third generation family business, HRGO Recruitment believes that both expert people and cutting-edge of technology will revolutionise the recruitment industry. We equip our clients, candidates and consultants with the best tools so they can do better recruitment.

At HRGO Recruitment, we’ve created BettyAI – named after our grandmother and founder back in 1957 – who gives every single applicant to a job with us personalised feedback. That’s almost 80,000 people in the last six months.

This groundbreaking innovation isn’t just helping those looking for work – it’s also a huge benefit to our clients. A candidate’s experience on hiring is also our client’s reputation; great impressions last. Better engagement also leads to greater retention of the workforce – a better hiring experience leads to longevity and success in the role. It also provides a societal impact, helping people’s applications be reviewed with a skill-based assessment resulting in improved social mobility, ED&I accessibility and job-skills fit in a challenging and evolving job market.

We built BettyAI using cutting-edge LLMs like ChatGPT. Not just to process CVs, but to deliver recruiter-quality insights with empathy and relevance, drawing on research, interviews with our top recruiters, and thoughtful design to ensure her feedback is both accurate and positively received by job applicants.

We ask each applicant for feedback and they’ve said:

“Betty’s comments were clear and relevant. The suggestions about specifying my availability, adding specific [tasks] and simplifying my CV are very useful. I’ll definitely update my CV based on this advice.”

“This feedback was truly amazing, and unbelievably accurate whilst also giving you accurate feedback to better your chances. This I found refreshing in the world of looking for a job, Thankyou.”

“Betty’s feedback on my job application is actually very good and insightful. Highlighting my strength on how I am a good fit for the role and also letting me know areas I can improve on. This is a very good tool which I think will help your organisation achieve its goals of making recruitment better.”

Our clients say:

“FONT makes my life so much easier… I have lots of agencies that call me, and now I ask them if they can provide what FONT provides. None of them can, and to that I say “Well then, I’m not interested”.

Please find attached an example of Betty’s feedback – https://egrefgdiicq.exactdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Betty-Feedback-example-HRGO-Recruitment-1.pdf

Application feedback for everyone is just one example of how we’re pushing ahead to change recruitment. We’ve also implemented weekly feedback from workers and clients to ensure continuous improvement whilst on assignment, full transparency of all compliance documentation 24/7, collaborative shift planning between a worker, the client manager and our consultants, and more.

Company Growth

On the back of the success of the brewery site and events, Dal then set his sights on expanding both the range of products on offer and the footprint of the business. In December 2021, Dal agreed a 20-year lease on Christchurch Spire in Coventry city centre. The unique venue serves Dhillon’s beers and ales on tap, as well as offering hot drinks and food, to create a family friendly environment.

Dhillon’s next venture was the Sky Blue Tavern, a brand-new sports bar in the city centre, in partnership with Coventry City Football Club. The Tavern is a hub for Sky Blues fans to meet and enjoy a drink, whether on matchdays or non-matchdays, and helps to generate revenue and support for the club. As one of the only dedicated sports bars in Coventry, football and sports fans can watch the latest action on big screens and in individual booths.

Dhillon’s Brewery have now also secured several catering contracts, including with Historic Coventry Trust, where they provide food and beverage operations at the historic Drapers’ Hall, as well as at other Trust locations.

The company’s vision and long-term growth plan continues to be focused on its close association with Coventry whilst securing further locations and contracts, to build a sustainable, profitable business model whilst continuing Dal’s original passion for brewing beautifully crafted beer.
