Polyseam

At Polyseam, their journey as a British manufacturer with a global footprint has been defined by innovation, resilience, and a deep understanding of international markets. They are proud to share how their commitment to exporting has fuelled their sustained growth and broadened the reach of British-made fire protection and construction solutions.
For over 30 years, Polyseam has developed and manufactured sealants, adhesives, and passive fire protection products in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Their ability to adapt to evolving global requirements and certification standards has enabled them to maintain a strong international presence, with exports consistently accounting for over 50% of their total sales.
In 2023, international sales accounted for £13.86 million (58.71%) of their £23.6 million turnover. In 2024, they sustained this momentum with £13.47 million in overseas sales, representing 54.56% of their total turnover of £24.6 million. As of mid-2025, export performance remains robust, with international sales at 57.09%.
Polyseam’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is designed for efficiency, consistency, and scalability. Through the use of advanced automation, in-line testing, and lean manufacturing practices, they ensure that their production processes meet the highest standards in both performance and sustainability. Their teams work collaboratively across production, R&D, quality control, customer service, and logistics to ensure that every product leaving their facility is compliant, safe, and fit for purpose.
They have strategically focused on developing trusted relationships with international partners, ensuring all of their products are tested to the highest standards and certified for sale in over 54 countries. Their strongest export markets include Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Central and Eastern Europe, with emerging growth in the Middle East, and future expansion planned across Germany, Austria and America.
Their global success is underpinned by a proactive, localised approach — understanding regional regulations, engaging with technical stakeholders, and delivering tailored training and ongoing support. From fire testing to local standards and product assessments to multi-language technical documentation, they ensure their customers receive not only high-performance products but also comprehensive guidance for compliant installation and application.
This international growth has had a transformative impact on the wider business. It has supported job creation across departments, allowed them to invest further in R&D and sustainability initiatives, and helped maintain a stable and scalable operation. It has also elevated the global visibility of British manufacturing and allowed Polyseam to be seen as a trusted export partner in fire safety and construction.
As part of their sustainability pledge — “Continuously innovating for a safer, more sustainable future” — they continue to evolve their products and packaging to meet the expectations of environmentally conscious international markets. Over 35% of their production is powered by electricity from renewable sources, and where possible, plastic cartridges are replaced with foil sausages to reduce plastic waste in supply chains.
Their success overseas is a testament to the hard work of their teams, the strength of their partnerships, and the enduring value of British-made quality. At Polyseam, they don’t see borders — they see opportunities.

Company Growth
On the back of the success of the brewery site and events, Dal then set his sights on expanding both the range of products on offer and the footprint of the business. In December 2021, Dal agreed a 20-year lease on Christchurch Spire in Coventry city centre. The unique venue serves Dhillon’s beers and ales on tap, as well as offering hot drinks and food, to create a family friendly environment.
Dhillon’s next venture was the Sky Blue Tavern, a brand-new sports bar in the city centre, in partnership with Coventry City Football Club. The Tavern is a hub for Sky Blues fans to meet and enjoy a drink, whether on matchdays or non-matchdays, and helps to generate revenue and support for the club. As one of the only dedicated sports bars in Coventry, football and sports fans can watch the latest action on big screens and in individual booths.
Dhillon’s Brewery have now also secured several catering contracts, including with Historic Coventry Trust, where they provide food and beverage operations at the historic Drapers’ Hall, as well as at other Trust locations.
The company’s vision and long-term growth plan continues to be focused on its close association with Coventry whilst securing further locations and contracts, to build a sustainable, profitable business model whilst continuing Dal’s original passion for brewing beautifully crafted beer.
