Workplace Equity Commission

workplace equity commission

Creating more equitable workplaces will have huge benefits for both society and business.

The BCC wants to help SMEs adapt the way they operate to make it easier for people from diverse talent pools to access jobs and progress in their careers.

That’s why we have convened a Workplace Equity Commission. We’ve brought together an amazing panel, comprising Chamber CEOs, businesses, and experts from across civic society.

The Commission defines ‘workplace equity’ as creating a level playing field for individuals, recognising that we do not all start from the same place and that adjustments may be required to provide fair access to opportunity.

Businesses, individuals and organisations with views and experience are all encouraged to contribute to the research. The Call for Evidence is open until 16 February 2024.

Evidence should be submitted to: [email protected]

The Commissioners

This UK-wide Commission is investigating how employers are experiencing the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda; where we can identify and scale up best practices; and policy recommendations to support employers and individuals.

The commission includes national experts, business leaders and representatives from the UK and international Chamber networks. Meeting regularly over the next 12 months, the group will produce practical recommendations for government and business to progress the ED&I agenda in the workplace.
