  • Apply for a grant to help small- and medium-sized businesses new to importing or exporting here
  • The BCC coordinated a Letter from Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Michael Gove MP, to businesses moving goods between the UK and the EU and between GB and NI, to help them prepare for the new trading relationship with the European Union following the end of the transition period. The letter ties in with the Government's Check, Change, Go campaign and highlights practical steps businesses need to take to prepare for the coming changes.
  • All businesses can find out what has changed, and check their preparations, by visiting new video content from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. The UK’s newly negotiated trade deals with the EU only allow goods of UK origin to move tariff- and quota-free. Many UK exporters are finding that goods they thought they could export tariff and quota free do not meet the new origin rules. Read more here.

Brexit Survey Results

Results from the first major business survey for 2021 by the British Chambers of Commerce on Brexit found that almost half (49%) of exporters are facing difficulties in adapting to the changes in the trade of goods, following the ratification of the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) on 1 January 2021.
