The Chamber Business Awards is one of the showpiece events in the business calendar, recognising and promoting the best of British business through a series of regional heats, culminating in a virtual Awards ceremony which took place on Thursday 9 December 2021.

Opus Innovations is a healthcare products company focussed on launching innovative and sustainable solutions. Opus has won local awards as a result of its determination to develop and sell its revolutionary and multi-award-winning eco-sanitiser ‘AQUAINT’ internationally.

In May 2018 Opus identified a gap in the wet wipes market as the vast majority of wipes contain high levels of plastic. In just six months Opus launched its own brand of ‘My Happy Planet’ wipes, which are 100% biodegradable, 100% home compostable and100% plastic-free. They are ultra-pure and are made from FSC certified wood pulp.

Over the past twenty years, Encirc have become known as game changers within the glass sector. Whether it’s their innovations, offerings, or the efforts put into sustainability, it’s a reputation they’ve been happy to live up to.

However, the firm recognised that glass has reached a crossroads. Whilst glass itself is a natural and infinitely recyclable product, when it comes to the beverage supply chain, creating flexibility, support and minimising carbon impact, the industry itself has a significant carbon footprint.

The company has pioneered the adoption of heat pump technology in the UK via an innovative shared ground loop system architecture.

The Senator Group was founded in 1976 when Chairman Colin Mustoe began designing and manufacturing office furniture. In the early days, he would even build and deliver the products to customers himself.

They have grown into one of the largest office furniture manufacturers in the world whilst remaining an independent, family-owned business.

BCC says November Trade data shows imports rebounding as exports remain flat

Looking at the last six months, a clear picture is emerging of significantly lower EU imports to the UK than three years ago, with a smaller reduction in exports to the EU.
