INTRODUCTORY LETTER

Dear colleagues,

When I wrote to you in January 2019, I mentioned a 'big ask' of colleagues across the Chamber Network: your support in identifying energetic, diverse, passionate and skilled individuals from across the UK who would be interested in becoming a Non-Executive Director (NED) of the BCC to help the organisation achieve its key objectives to support and add value to the Network of 53 Chambers.Encouraging high calibre candidates from the Network (both representatives of individual Chamber Members and Chamber Chief Executives) to apply for these positions is critical to the future success of the organisation. The first new appointment(s) will join the Board following the AGM in October this year.

In addition to the appointment of NEDs, the process has also commenced to identify candidates interested in the role of President of the BCC. This role has been redefined, and will not include the responsibility of chairing the BCC Board.

The new Regional Assemblies have now agreed their representatives to join the Nominations Committee which will oversee the selection and appointment process. The Board’s recommendations will then be made to Members at the AGM.

I write today to formally request applications from across the Chamber Network. Please see attached links/ information for:
