Countdown to Global Annual Conference with……Karima-Catherine Goundiam (KC)

Karima-Catherine Goundiam (KC) is the CEO of B2BeeMatch & Red Dot Digital, Founder of Tech Canada Advocates and will be speaking at BCC’s Global Annual Conference on 16 June 2021.

Ahead of the event, we asked KC some questions about what influenced her to speak at this year’s virtual event and what she is most looking forward to over the two day virtual conference.

What are you most looking forward to during the 2-day Virtual Conference?

I think it’s a key conference discussing important topics given by really solid people in industry and government. The lineup is great! Given the very difficult years the UK has had, between Brexit and the pandemic, the British Chambers of Commerce have done a tremendous job at advocating for businesses.

What would you particularly like to bring awareness to/cover?

I want to discuss the importance of SMEs, and of digital transformation and how it affects SMEs. It’s not new, but the pandemic has accelerated the need for this conversation. The glaring fact is that a lot of organizations still see digital as an afterthought. We need to talk about the challenges and opportunities!

What are two key takeaways you hope to give the audience?

I’d like leaders to come away with an understanding of how digital either creates or sustains revenue streams, in a way that helps bring us closer to having crisis-free organizations that can bounce back easily in circumstances like the ones we’re facing now. I’d also like people to realize that digital transformation takes effort and money, and this knowledge should influence policy.

What influenced you to agree to speak at the Global Annual Conference?

I highly respect the British Chambers of Commerce, and both with Brexit and with the pandemic, I’ve really been impressed with the advocacy they’ve done for SMEs. As a Canadian-based international entrepreneur, I absolutely support this and am very happy to represent Canada at the conference.

What do you hope to gain from attending the Global Annual Conference?

I’m an advocate for SMEs, so I’m excited to have an opportunity to further my message in a key market my B2BeeMatch, my business matchmaking platform operates in. I have strong connections with the UK and it’s great to have the chance to deepen them and continue to build new ones.
