Clothes2order won the Best Use of Technology to Improve Business Performance Award sponsored by BT in 2015

A rapidly-growing business producing printed and embroidered clothing for uniforms, promotions & events based in Trafford Park, Manchester, Clothes2order relies heavily on technology to service a diverse client base in the UK and abroad.

Their sales turnover has been growing steadily year on year thanks to considerable investment in technology, staff and premises, and they show no signs of slowing down.

In-house developments

During 2015 Clothes2order’s in-house team developed an improved stock management system and an in-house ideas platform, through which staff are encouraged to propose and vote on ideas that will improve customer experience. In addition the business continues to use an order progress system which was launched last year whereby staff make live updates as they work on orders via hand-held electronic tablets.

Customer comes first

Where the client is concerned, Clothes2order’s aim is to make ordering as remarkably simple as possible. They have significantly increased investment in a live chat system, through which customers can speak to one of their team on site through an instant message feature, and also introduced a new Merchandise Stores platform, developed by their e-commerce team. The platform allows users to set up their own clothing store for free and earn commission through the Clothes2order domain. Since the launch, over 3000 merchandise stores have been created.

Finally, June 2015 saw the launch of their dedicated mobile site, allowing them to provide a cross-channel holistic journey for the customer, as well as making it remarkably simple for customers to order from them, whatever device they choose to use.

With such ambitious and pro-active use of technology to improve all aspects of their business, it is easy to see why the judges chose Clothes2order.
