The Membership Project Manager will play a key role in delivering the BCC Centre of Excellence, continue strengthening membership engagement, and supporting the Chamber Network’s strategic development. This role includes overseeing the Chamber Awards, Training Academy, as well as driving communications, reporting, and operational support.
The position requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and event coordination skills to enhance the value of membership and advocacy efforts across the Chamber Network.
Centre of Excellence Execution
Training Academy Delivery
Manage the end-to-end delivery of the BCC Training Academy, including:
Future Leaders Programme – supporting the design, scheduling, and execution of leadership sessions.
Membership Growth Workshops – curating sessions on retention, engagement, and acquisition. Commercial Development Training – assisting in the development of revenue diversification and sponsorship training.
Coordinating event logistics – venue bookings, trainer engagement, session materials, and participant communications.
Working with BCC marketing team to develop promotional materials and recruitment strategies. Supporting the roll-out of a Learning Management System (LMS) for hybrid and digital learning. Evaluating training impact through surveys and participant analysis.
Identifying sponsorship opportunities and working with the Partnerships Team to explore funding models.
Overseeing budget management, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability.
Chamber Awards
Chamber Awards Programme Management. Oversee the UK & International Chamber of the Year Awards, also the Presidents Excellence and Rising Star Award. Supported by Membership Executive you will be responsible for ensure the Chamber Awards strategy is being followed, targets for applications are being met, suitable judges are secured and you will oversee the Chamber Awards celebration event run by Membership Executive.
Work with Member Partnerships Manager to secure sponsorship for the Awards and celebration event.
Chamber Growth Network & Affiliate Model Review
Review the affiliate model to ensure brand integrity, potential for growth, and additional revenue opportunities.
Conduct a pilot exercise to explore affiliate integration and commercial potential.
Support Chamber Growth Network programme delivery
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes to ensure alignment with BCC strategic objectives. Prepare regular reports on the progress of the Centre of Excellence for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure best practices, insights, and successes are shared across the Chamber Network.
Conduct a membership communications review with the Marcomms team to refine messaging and increase engagement.
Launch a global campaign under the Where Business Belongs brand
Membership Engagement & Events
New & Existing Engagement Programmes & Global Chamber Link
Explore and support new initiatives, to enhance member value and visibility.
Oversee the maintenance of the BCC intranet, including document control and technical support. Ensure events are updated, drive traffic to the platform, and optimise channel engagement.
Act as a Intranet champion, promoting internal and external engagement.
Work with the Membership Executive to enhance internal communication tools.
Ideal Candidate
A strong project manager – Someone who can confidently oversee multiple work streams, ensuring that Centre of Excellence initiatives are well-planned, executed efficiently, and effectively reported on. Detail-oriented and proactive – Able to track and manage key milestones using the advocacy grid and internal reporting tools, keeping everything on schedule and ensuring progress is clearly communicated.
A natural relationship builder – Someone who understands the importance of supporting Chambers, ensuring they have access to timely updates, training opportunities, and advocacy support that add real value to their membership.
Process-driven and solutions-focused – A candidate who can identify opportunities to refine and improve internal BCC processes, enhancing operational efficiency and making sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Essential
Knowledge of the Chamber of Commerce network and its role in supporting business communities. Experience in securing event sponsorship and funding.
Contract type: FTC 12 months
Reporting line: Director of Membership UK & International
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, full-time.
Location: BCC office in St James’s Park, London, a minimum of 3 days a week.
