Member Partnerships Manager

The British Chambers of Commerce is funded through three key financial streams – network membership affiliation fees and member services, trade services delivered by the network, and commercial partnerships with corporates.

A portfolio of membership products and commercial member services is available exclusively to Chambers and their members, procured by the BCC at the centre.

These programmes provide Chambers with key drivers for membership development through value-added benefits, including cost savings and business growth support for themselves and their members. Furthermore, they drive revenue into the network and the BCC.

Furthermore, the membership team delivers a series of activities and programmes to the network annually, funded through sponsorship.

The Member Partnerships Manager will work closely with the Head of Member Partnerships, the Head of Membership Development and the Director of Membership to manage and grow the portfolio of membership products, develop new product opportunities, and facilitate best practice sharing across the Chamber network to drive growth in the network. The role will also involve support for raising of sponsorship for specific membership related activities.

The role will be crucial to supporting the growth strategy of new products and services, and activities, aligned with the strategic goals of enhancing member relationships and increasing income for the network and BCC.

  • Contribute to the BCC’s membership directorate income generation.
  • Support the Head of Member Partnerships in delivering the BCC’s Member Partnerships strategy.
  • Drive revenue from member facing activities through sponsorship and commercial partners.
  • Manage and deliver the BCC’s portfolio of membership products and related programmes, including reviewing existing products and developing new offerings aligned with the membership team’s strategic focus on growth and sustainability.
  • Support the expansion of products to generate greater income for the network and BCC, contributing to the strategic goal of growing income from membership commercial partnerships year on year against agreed targets.
  • Facilitate best practice sharing across the Chamber network, including coordinating formal and informal training with partners and membership teams, aligned with the strategy’s capacity-building initiatives.
  • Work with commercial partners to ensure the product offerings remain relevant and compelling to members, ensuring that products provide value and meet the needs of the network.
  • Manage inbound partnership enquiries, ensuring effective coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the consultation process for developing and rolling out new member products and services, in line with the network’s evolving needs and income generation goals.
  • Support the Head of Member Partnerships with contract agreements, reviews, and budget management for the membership commercial partnerships, ensuring alignment with the broader financial goals of the membership directorate.
  • Strong account management skills to support Chamber colleagues and partner organisations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft packages & CRM systems to manage data sets, produce reports, and keep systems secure and up to date.
  • Commercial acumen and experience of managing commercial partnerships with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder matrices.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to the fast-paced, evolving needs of the membership team and network.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage across seniority levels.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage people across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills and experience.

Contract type: Permanent

Reporting line: This role will be working as part of the Membership Directorate.

Department: Membership Directorate

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, full-time.  

Location: BCC office in St James’ Park London. Minimum 3 days per week in the office with additional days as and when required.
