In a report entitled “Business skills: More to learn” BCC analyses a survey of more than 6000 firms in issues such as apprenticeships, qualifications and training budgets.

A key concern is that nearly half of all firms find it difficult to find the right staff to fill vacancies, even at a time of rising unemployment.

 


 

New employment laws due to be implemented over the next four years will cost UK businesses a staggering £22.17bn, the British Chambers of Commerce

Despite a pledge from the Government to tackle the burden of red tape, which is stifling job creation and growth in the UK, the BCC’s Employment Timeline, published today (Tuesday), shows a raft of new employment legislation which is set to come into force between April 2011 and April 2015.
