Visionary transport infrastructure needed for future economic competitiveness

09/10/08 | 12:15

Responding to the Transport Secretary’s written statement to Parliament in which he gives permission for Stansted airport to expand, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, David Frost, said:

“We're pleased to hear that permission to expand Stansted has been granted. With the UK economy facing a serious downturn, it’s crucial that the country’s third busiest airport is able to grow and companies can travel freely around the globe to help generate essential business.

"Failure to invest in major transport infrastructure projects now will leave us less able to compete with our European competitors in the future."
