Terminal 5 opening is just the start of a process, further investment in transport infrastructure is still needed

14/03/08 | 12:45

Commenting on the opening of Terminal 5 at Heathrow today, Gareth Elliott, Policy Adviser at the British Chambers of Commerce, said:
“We are pleased to see the opening of Terminal 5 which will add much needed capacity to an already overstretched airport. Business travellers need reliable and efficient transport systems and T5 along with the proposals for a third runway will go a long way to providing the UK with the first class facilities it requires.

"However, Terminal 5 is just the start of a process. Further major transport infrastructure upgrades and investment in our wider transport network are needed. Terminal 5 has taken far too long to come to fruition. This cannot be allowed to happen again, which is why the new planning bill must be a success."
