NUCLEAR POWER ESSENTIAL FOR FUTURE SUCCESS OF BRITISH ECONOMY

10/01/08 | 12:22

David Frost, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), said:

"Nuclear power, as part of a balanced and mixed supply of energy, is essential for this country if we are to have energy security at a time when traditional sources are threatened or in short supply. To remain economically competitive, we must be able to ensure a consistent and affordable supply of power reaches our businesses so that they can carry on creating wealth for the British economy.

"The BCC supports today's decision, however, the Government must now show a commitment to see the new Planning Bill through and to get this nuclear project completed."
