Move towards low carbon economy is an opportunity for businesses of all sizes

15/07/09 | 13:23

The government has outlined plans today on how it will move the UK towards a low carbon economy. Commenting, David Frost, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said:

“Businesses understand that action must be taken to tackle climate change and the government’s White Paper goes some way to setting out a road map. However, this must be a partnership that seeks to engage with business in a cost effective manner that genuinely enables our economy to change.

“The move towards a low carbon economy is a huge opportunity for businesses of all sizes. We are one of the most innovative nations in the world, we have some amazing technologies coming through and we want to see the government assisting those industries.

“On the day that the UK’s largest employer in the green energy industry is to cease production of wind turbines, we need to ensure that these announcements are made of real substance.”
