Business welcomes Europe’s first foreign policy chief

Commenting on Baroness Ashton’s appointment as the EU’s first high representative on foreign affairs, David Frost, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), said:

"British businesses welcome Cathy Ashton's appointment as the European Union's first foreign policy chief. We are pleased that a Briton will occupy this post - and urge Baroness Ashton to use her new position to help businesses across Britain and Europe grow by opening up new markets for global trade."
