Better statistics needed to tackle business crime hotspots

31/07/09 | 00:01

According to recent analysis, nearly 350,000 offences against business can be identified from crimes recorded by the police in 2008-09. Commenting, Adam Marshall, Director of Policy at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said:

"Crimes against businesses, which cost the economy billions of pounds each year, worsen when times are tough. Now more than ever, we need better business crime statistics so that police, councils and business leaders can work together to tackle business crime hotspots.

“Given the importance of business to local communities and job creation, reducing business crime is a priority that we can all agree on."
