BCC welcomes Future of Banking Commission's reform proposals

13/06/10 | 10:04

Commenting on the Future of Banking Commission's report, released today, Dr Adam Marshall, Director of Policy at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), said:

"The BCC strongly welcomes the Future of Banking Commission's proposals to reform training and incentives for front line staff. In our testimony before the Commission, we highlighted how poor training, arbitrary decision-making and skewed incentives stopped many viable businesses from getting credit from banks at the height of the credit crunch. If implemented, the Commission's recommendations on culture would give many local business owners greater confidence in the decision-making process - and help to prevent similar problems from recurring in future."
