Campaigning on behalf of British business

751 businesses given platform to directly lobby European Parliament

16/07/10 | 10:19

Operational Note

On October 14th, 751 business leaders from across the 27 EU member states will gather in the hemicycle of the European Parliament to debate and vote on issues affecting their companies in the wake of the global recession.

The entrepreneurs will meet at the European Parliament of Enterprises (EPE), which is organised under the patronage of the European Commission and supported by the Belgian Presidency of the EU.

The event will provide European companies, including a large delegation of British firms, with a unique platform to lobby officials on issues such as the sovereign debt crisis, late payment, trade promotion and labour market reform.

European representatives, including the President of the EU Council, Herman Van Rompuy, and the Commission President, Jose Manuel Barroso, will be present to react to the business votes.

The event is organised by Eurochambres, the umbrella body for national Chambers across Europe, in co-operation with the British Chambers of Commerce.
