Case Study - Bible Society
Bible Society
100 EMPLOYEES
As part of our Business Continuity project, Bible Society has been developing a series of contingency plans to enable the business to recover quickly and efficiently in the event of a major incident. In the event of such an incident, a War Cabinet would be established to organise the response and institute a recovery plan.
- In order to help reduce the risk of spreading of swine flu, the Society has increased staff awareness of basic hygiene and made tissues and antiseptic hand gel available around its offices in Swindon and London.
- Disposal bins specifically for tissues were also installed throughout the buildings.
Staff are kept up to date on the latest advice from the government and from our HR department via our intranet.
- We now have a VPN (Virtual Private Network), which enables most staff to work from home by accessing their desktop stations remotely. There is an ongoing programme to identify and overcome barriers to working from home.
- A special Swine Flu War Cabinet will be meet briefly every week to keep abreast of developments and take any action necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees (and tenants) and the continuity of our business.
- Currently we have two members of staff either diagnosed with swine flu, or suspect they have it, both mild cases. We are continuing to monitor the situation. The key message is ‘don’t panic’!
