Business and Education Survey: Make work experience a national priority
This is the first release from the Business and Education Survey, which focuses on the importance of work experience.
The Business and Education survey is a key part of the Chamber Network's ‘bridging the gap’ campaign, which is aimed at preparing young people for work and ensuring businesses have the skills they need.
This survey builds on the BCC Workforce Survey 2014 which found that 88% of businesses think school leavers are unprepared for the workplace. In particular, businesses felt young people lack basic employability skills such as communication skills, resilience and insight into how to act appropriately in the workplace.
