BCC Economic Analyses and Resources

The BCC collects information on what is happening in the economy to help government make informed decisions and provide reliable economic information for business.

Quarterly Economic Survey

The BCC’s Quarterly Economic Survey is the largest business survey in the UK and collects information from around 6,000 businesses across the country.  It has been running for 20 years and so provide historic context to help understand what is happening now. 

The January publication of the Q4 results for the QES showed a dramatic worsening of the economic situation. 


Monthly Business Survey

To provide more timely information, the BCC has also started a monthly survey with a selection of members to take the temperature on a range of different indicators each month.  This provides up to date information on what is happening and what is working.
