It has been brought to our attention that third parties have been contacting companies stating that they are from the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC). There have been a number of incidences where someone has asked for a company’s full address as well as more sensitive information. To our knowledge the contacts have taken the form of both emails purporting to be from the BCC and through phonecalls, where someone impersonating a member of BCC staff state that they require company information for legislative purposes.

If you are asked for any sensitive company information from anyone purporting to be from the British Chambers of Commerce, or receive any documentation relating to a contract that your organisation was unaware of, please disregard it. We would not request any sensitive information from any company relating to business activities, except in circumstances where we are already working with an organisation on a partnership basis. Additionally, the British Chambers of Commerce does not issue any sort of documentation authorising companies to conduct business with other companies within the UK.

We do not use an info@britishchambers.org.uk email address. Any unsolicited email that you receive that purports to be from the British Chambers of Commerce does not originate from us.

If you are uncertain of any request please contact us using our enquiry form, or contact the local accredited Chamber of Commerce in your area. In addition, you can also report any incidences to ActionFraud.
