Union demands show how out of touch they are with the modern workplace

Commenting on the proposals which have emerged from the Labour Party's National Policy Forum, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, David Frost, said:

“At a time when the economy is clearly facing difficult conditions, any move that restricts employers’ flexibility is a concern. Our members will look at these proposals and come to the conclusion that the unions are deeply out of touch with the realities of the modern workplace.

“In the current climate we need to make every effort to ensure that firms find it easy to employ people, rather than legalising every element of working life."
